Cllr. Charles Gono

Biography

Cllr Charles Gono has more than 25 years of experience as a cadet, student, and employee of the Liberia Maritime Authority, serving up to Deputy Commissioner for Technical Services, a Legal Consultant with the United Nations, and County Attorney for Grand Cape Mount County, Ministry of Justice, Republic of Liberia. Cllr Gono's career path started with a maritime cadetship training at the Mano River Union Marine Training Institute in Marshall City, Liberia (1983), followed by a First Class/Chief Marine Engineer Officer certification at the Regional Maritime University, Ghana (1993), an MSc Degree in Maritime Safety and Environmental Protection at the World Maritime University, Malmö, Sweden (1998), a Bachelor of Law at the Louis Arthur Grand School of Law, University of Liberia (2014/15), a Master in Public Administration (MPA) at the University of Liberia Graduate School of Public Administration (2017/18), and a Master in International Maritime Law (LLM) at the IMO International Maritime Law Institute in Malta (2020/21). He is currently undertaking a PhD program in International Law and Treaty Law at the EUCLID Pole University.
